Jeannine, I am actually doing this very topic for my project in EDUC 8848. Did this tetrad activity help you see the connection between these two devices more clearly? At first I didn't really see that big of a connection between the LCD projector and the overhead, but after the tetrad activity I found the progression to the LCD projector a natural step.
ReplyDeleteSarah,
ReplyDeleteYes, McLuhans tetrad is so useful in thinking about technology. Connections can be made much more easily. Thanks for the comment.
Jeannine,
ReplyDeleteGreat job. MuLuhans tetrad has been very helpful for me.
Jeannine,
ReplyDeleteDo you find it hard to come up with the Reverses part of the tetrad? Did you find that MuLuhans tetrad was easy to use?
Jeannine,
ReplyDeleteI agree with the holographic projection system as the reverse/demise of the LCD projector. I did not consider how portable the LCD projector is; however, I will admit the slim presentation of the device allows for this. Many years (centuries perhaps) after the 3D projection system, information could be presented via some form of cerebral interaction / downloading information to the brain.
Jeannine,
ReplyDeleteYour blog gives you the opportunity to talk to the world about your thinking on the application of the tetrad model to these technologies and then get feedback from your peers and other global readers. Time to bring out that prolific writer from inside your head.
Also, this is where you upload the graphics you created for each of the tetrads. Again, you can get feedback.
Dr. Toledo
@Lynne,
ReplyDeleteYes, The reverses part of the tetrad is difficult for me, I try not to foresee the future normally, I usually take things as they come. As a instructional technologist, I see I need to be more aware of many different aspects in regards to technology.
@Angela,
Interesting comment regarding the brain functioning. Would be wild to see. When I think about that some more perhaps along with that will be reading of the minds.
@Dr. Toledo,
I find it difficult to tap into the writer you refer. Thanks for the encouragement. I am unsure of the graphics that you are referring to but will view others blogs and check it out.
Thanks!
